A little bit about me.
My name is Mindy and I have been doing henna for about 4 years. I do both freehand patterns and use paper transfers for more difficult patterns ( such as Celtic knot work). My designs consists of original patterns from my brain, various Arabic and Indian pattern books and adapted patterns from other books. In addition to the wide range of patterns, I also keep my prices to accommodate and fit budgets of all types, even the cheapest. Thank you for visiting my site and enjoy your self!
Henna Tips for you
1. For the best possible stain the henna needs to remain on your skin a
minimum of three hours. Ideally you should keep the henna on your skin in a
protective wrap for at least 6 hours. This allows the skin to heat up the henna and give you a darker, more longer lasting stain. You will want to keep the room slightly warm
and avoid very cold rooms. The warmer your skin is and the longer
the paste can remain on there will give a good dark stain .
2. Until henna is dry, wet henna past will stain fabrics. It is best if you have pets to
put them in another room while having henna applied. For some reason pets
just love gravitate toward those areas that have wet henna. You need to remain
stationary if you have certain parts done such as the feet .
3. If you have small children you may want to arrange for a babysitter. It can be
very disrupting for both parent and artist to have the constant interruptions
that children do. You will not always be able to get up and get what they
need when having henna done. Children can also brush up against the
henna causing it ruin the design if it is still wet. As much as we love our
children it is also for important for the parent(s) to take some relaxing
quiet time for themselves. This something that is best done with only you there.
Appointments
I am available for individual sessions in the evenings or on weekends.
My rates vary for individual appointments depending on the type
of work being done and the amount of body coverage.
My design prices range from $5.00 to $100.00.
Corporate Events
Have a company picnic taking place? Want to add some spice and uniqueness to your event? I am now available for corporate events and company picnics. In addition to henna I also have neat little freebies and temporary stick on tattoos for children.
CORPORATE RATES
My hourly rates are $60.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum. Employees and their families are not limited to the size of designs they get. I have smaller master book that I specifically work with for large events. I have a wide variety of designs for both men and women to choose from. I only henna children over the age of 10.
Corporate parties of more than 15 people wanting henna will require one more henna artist other than myself. For a second artist to come it is $30.00 extra per hour with a 2 hour minimum requirement
Grand Openings
Celebrating the grand opening of your business? Henna is a great way to attract in customers and get your business rolling. My standard rate is $50.00 per hour
with a 2 hour minimum requirement.
Here is another incentive. Did you know that my fee may be tax
deductible on your income taxes as advertising cost or other incurred expense?
Parties
I am available for parties, birthday gatherings (ages 12 or older please), wedding receptions, or any fun get together.
My rate for parties is $50.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum
requirement. You and your guests can receive as many designs as they want.
I start out by doing one design per person so everyone gets a chance. Then if they want more they can come back around later.
Bridal Henna
Having bridal henna done versus the contemporary traditional style wedding is
now becoming more popular. Bridal henna is as diverse as the henna traditions themselves.
From the flowing yet negative space of Arabic patterns to the intricate design of India. For modern brides and grooms the henna can be as simple, intricate or personalized as one desires. All of my designs in my book are suitable and adaptable for bridal henna both for the hands and feet. I have special care kit designed for brides that allows them to care for their henna up to and after the wedding to get the darkest stain possible.
If considering bridal henna I offer a free in- person consultation to view my
design book. I will go over the process of how it works from start to finish.
I can do custom bridal as long as the design wanted is within my drawing talents. To have your henna looking at it's best color you need to have it done at 2-3 days before the wedding.
BRIDAL HENNA RATES
Depending on the type of work being done and what appendages you have done can take anywhere from an 1 hour or up to 5 hours. The patterns chosen will determine whether I charge per hour or per design. For more details on how this works please feel free to call or email me.
Bridal Parties (Sangeet)
A sangeet is the night of henna for the bride. The family and friends from both sides gather
to get henna done along with the bride. Henna on guests is done on the top of the hands or inside of the hands. Everywhere else for henna is off limits at a traditionally held sangeet. Please call or email for more info on how sangeets work.
Bridal Party or Sangeet Rates
Hourly rate for sangeet is $50.00 & I recommend at least a 2 hour booking for more than 5 guests. This ensures everyone who wants it gets henna. If you have more than 10 people that will be receiving henna it may require another henna artist.
Baby Showers
What better way to celebrate new life than to have your belly hennaed! In North
Africa, India and the Middle Eastern cultures it is traditional to henna the mother's
belly in about the 7th to 8th month. ( the guests received henna as well)
The belly is decorated with symbols and motifs that are to help bring about
a safe and healthy birth. It also blesses and protects both mother and baby.
This is also a wonderful way for Mom-to-be to relax with a cooling & soothing
application of henna. Henna helps to lift the spirits emotionally to bring a sense of
well being and happiness. For as we women know the last trimester can be a very
emotional and stressful time for self-esteem and body image. Having a hennaed
belly is a unique and beautiful way to celebrate the power of womanhood and
the honoring of life that grows within. And it is great fun to show off your
belly at exercise or birthing classes! How often do you see this ancient and
beautiful tradition done on pregnant bellies here in our western culture?
You will receive a free photo to be able to display in your baby album to show
to your family and baby when it is old enough. Your guests at the baby shower
can get hennaed right along with you.
BABY RATES
My rates are $50.00 for a minimum of 2 hour for baby showers where guests will be
receiving henna as well. Again guests are not limited to just one design.
For just bellies only being done price will start at $25.00 and go up from there. Design and coverage will determine price. I can also do hands and feet to match your belly design which will also be an additional charge depending on design.
